Samantha Schurmer Davies

Samantha Schurmer Davies is the newest partner at Schurmer Reese Davies, Attorneys at Law. Ms. Davies is the fourth generation in her family to practice law in the state of California, and currently enjoys practicing side by side with her father.

While a valuable asset during every case stage, Ms. Davies’ primary area of specialization at the firm is litigation. She has extensive experience in a number of different case types from automobile incidents, to wrongful death matters, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Ms. Davies has both taken and defended a multitude of depositions. This includes but is not limited to depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, persons most knowledgeable, police officers, medical personnel, witnesses, employers, and city employees. 

Ms. Davies has been recognized for her work via a number of awards, including a Top 10 Personal Injury Attorney award; and a Top 100 Verdicts award for her participation in a trial wherein a sizeable award for our client was obtained after an automobile accident had left him seriously injured.

Ms. Davies is involved in a number of different organizations that aid in her obtaining diverse experience. These organizations include the Ventura County Bar Association, Ventura County Barristers, and most recently Ms. Davies has joined the Board of Directors at Child Development Resources—a non-profit organization helping low-income families achieve bright futures for their children through education.

Ms. Davies attended the University of Southern California and earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Forensics and Criminality. Ms. Davies then attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Davies was passionate about her work throughout law school, and took on many extracurricular activities. Ms. Davies was a member of Law Review; was a teacher’s assistant for both Contracts and Civil Procedure; and worked as a research assistant. During her summers, Ms. Davies externed for a Federal Judge in Downtown Los Angeles and worked as a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office in Pomona, California. Throughout her time at the District Attorney’s office, Ms. Davies gained valuable experience participating in preliminary hearings, questioning witnesses, and conducting legal research. Ms. Davies graduated in the top 5% of her law school class.

Ms. Davies still continues to strive for further education to improve upon her legal knowledge, and recently participated in an intensive week-long training held by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. This rigorous program focused on improving upon a number of trial skills such as direct and cross examination; introduction of evidence; opening statements; and closing arguments. Ms. Davies utilizes both her legal knowledge and litigation experience to zealously represent her clients.
